Mother’s Day is coming up just next weekend! Do you have something to give your mom to show her thanks and appreciation? Or are you like me and occasionally wait until the least minute for gift-purchasing? As Mother’s Day is fast approaching, I’ve been searching everywhere for great gifts for the mothers in my life. Not only do I typically get something for my mom, but also my step-mom, Alex’s mom, my aunt, and our grandmothers. There are so many wonderful mothers in my life that I don’t just stop at my own mom.

I’ve been searching all over the place for great gift ideas for Mother’s Day. It’s coming up just next month and I want to get my mom something that she will love. She does so much for everybody in our family that I want to show her how much she is appreciated. My mom is not a terribly materialistic person. Even while we were growing up, she liked to go out and do things more than she liked actually opening up gifts that are products and items.

Remembering this, I decided to check out some of the facials Orange County has to offer. She loves to go get pedicures and things like that. Since she’s never had a facial, I know she’s going to fall in love with it. I’ve had them a couple of times and I can’t even put into words just how amazing it was!

What are you getting your mom for Mother’s Day?

Homemade gifts make the best presents. They are so much more special and meaningful. I’m going to make this project for the special mothers in my life for Mother’s Day. It’s coming up in May already!

I found this project on Pinterest for making homemade decorative candles and there was never a link attached to it, so I had a little experimenting to do to make this.

Here are the instructions:

You will need plain pillar candles. White works best because then you are able to use any color you want for decorating. You will also need a varity of colored permanent markers (this doesn’t work if they aren’t PERMANENT). Gather sheets of wax paper and a hair dryer as well.

Draw a design using the permanent markers on the wax paper, but keep in mind that whatever is written will be BACKWARDS on the candle after the transfer, so if you have any writing that you want to do, make sure that you write it backwards. Wrap the wax paper around the candle as shown in the picture. Make sure it doesn’t slide around! Turn the hair dryer on, and hold 8-10 inches away from the wax paper/candle to transfer the design.

My Mom is the type of lady that doesn’t ever splurge on herself, ever. She is a very modest lady and wouldn’t even splurge if she had the money, it is just the way she is. After all that she has done for me and my family I feel the least I can do is give my Mom a little luxury. My Mom thinks it’s outrageous when people spend hundreds, maybe even thousands, on designer handbags. I’ll be honest, if I had the funds to do so I would, but I don’t … yet.

With Mother’s Day approaching quickly, I have been planning on ordering her a Coach handbag. She is the type of person that likes something simple, neutral and durable. I figured that narrows my selection down to Coach Signature Bags. I haven’t chosen the exact handbag I will be purchasing her but I’m thinking along the lines of this one. If I order it within the next week it should be here right in time for Mother’s Day. I know my Mom doesn’t want me to spend a ton of money on her gift, but I think I should, it’s the least I can do!
