Bridesmaids/ Groomsman Gift Ideas!

Wedding season is upon us and while many people worry about what to get the bride and the groom on their special day, the bride and the groom worry about what to get the special people in their lives. I’m talking about bridesmaids and groomsman. Typically, bridesmaids and groomsman are either relatives or close friends of those to be wed. This means you have to get them something nice! After all being in a wedding is a lot more stressful than showing up the day of.

You could go with the traditional necklaces, cufflinks, what have you. OR you could get something a little more unique!

For the bridesmaids, try getting cute, silk, monogramed robes! The girls can wear them the day of while getting ready and they can use them for more than just one day! These satin robes from Etsy cost $35.00 a piece and come in seven different colors.

Another idea that’s less noticeable is to get your bridesmaids jewelry in your wedding colors. So if your colors are coral and navy get them some coral and navy earrings like these ones from Etsy.

This way your ladies can wear them whenever they want but they will still hold a special meaning for them.

I don’t want to generalize the whole category of “men” but they seem to be less picky to shop for than girls. I’m sure some are but the common theme seems to be buy them something beer related and they will be happy. So, going along with this you could get your groomsman some monogramed beer mugs!

The one above is only $10.00

They will use it whenever and probably for more than just beer. But if you are looking for something special try also getting them some monogramed robes! Try avoiding the short, silky ones from above. Unless they’re into that of course!

Wedding Season is Almost Here

Yes wedding season is upon us. People are getting engaged, and families are forming. But with wedding season comes another season, more interesting season (in my opinion.) Yes this time of year is for more than just “I do’s.” It is for Bachelorette parties.

Bachelorette-2

Bachelorette parties are a right of passage for every bride. It is a time where you can get together with your girls and have a night to remember (or not remember depending on the alcohol content). Obviously the ideal spot for bachelorette parties is Vegas. It has strippers, alcohol, and buffets, but not everyone can afford the ideal party spot, especially when there are wedding expenses coming out of your tushy!

Just because you cannot afford Vegas does not mean you cannot have a kickass bachelorette party on a budget!

First of all, it is a bachelorette party. It is your job to be loud and obnoxious and make sure everyone in the room knows why you are there. Come up with a group outfit, whether you make your own t-shirts or you all wear black make sure you look the part. Deck the bride out in white, and top her off with a vail! It is her day, all eyes should be on her.

What is a bachelorette party without a few naughty games? A fun way to celebrate would be to email the groom some questions and quiz the bride at her party. When she gets an answer wrong she has to drink, if she gets it right you have to drink. Make sure to throw some dirt ones in there like “Where is the craziest place you have ever had sex?” and “What is your favorite position?” It would not be a bachelorette party without making a few people blush.

Weddings: They’re Not Just for June

Customizable hanger, perfect option for a wedding gift.

Customizable hanger, perfect option for a wedding gift.

I know what you’re thinking, weddings are usually a summer topic. And yes, while most weddings happen in May and June, there are still a few scattered about throughout the year. Take my friend Allison for example, she just married the love of her life this past Saturday. So yes, while weddings may be a more popular subject for the summer months, fall- and even winter- weddings are indeed a thing. That being said, we cannot forget about the weddings gifts!

I was racking my brain deciding what to get Allison and David. I could have gone with the traditional blender, or knife set, but that is so boring! As I have said before, I love getting personalized gifts that actually mean something. One of my favorite sites to go to for weddings gifts is Etsy. Etsy is a super popular, well known site so you know you its trustworthy, and because most of the gifts are hand-made it is the perfect site to go to if you want something personal!

The gift I chose for Allison and her hubby David were these super cool customized hangers. Like I said, they were hand-made out of wood and use twisted aluminum wire to write out the last name of the bride and groom. You can add a bow, pearls, or both to the hanger and its as cheap as $5.99 plus tax.

The reason I love this gift idea so much is because, generally, the hanger is used to hang up the brides wedding dress (and if you get one for the groom he can hang up his suit- if he didn’t rent it of course). The wedding dress is probably the most important keepsake from the brides special day. Therefore, it deserves more than just a cheap, plastic hanger from the dollar store.

I chose to put Allison’s new last name on the hanger as a way to commemorate her special day, with her special guy, and needless to say she loved it. Now she can hang up her dress and show off her new last name at the same time. Best of luck to the both of you!

Hugs, kisses and best wishes y’all!

The Home Products at Herberger’s Make Great Wedding Gifts

blog-herbergersWedding season is in full swing! It seems like there are weddings almost every weekend and I love to be a part of such a big day for friends and family. It means a lot to me and I love helping the couple to celebrate the next chapter in their lives!

Most of the time, the couples register at a store for gifts. This is super helpful because then I know for sure that I am getting a gift that they will use and love. It seems like more and more couples are registering at Herberger’s. I didn’t realize that they carried so many great things for couples. One of my favorite things is their line of housewares and products for the home.
