Relax A Little

Life is super stressful. I know personally I have a million different things to do a day and each of them go in a different direction. If we break it down, I’ve got two blogs (which I love running), a job in a cosmetic department, a social media internship and on top of all that, a Spanish class. By the way I have never taken Spanish a day in my life so that has proven to be the most difficult. Needless to say I am always busy and when you are always busy you can get a little stressed. I feel like I never have time for anything. I know a lot of people feel this way too. So, how can we calm ourselves down and just relax for once so we don’t go completely crazy?

The first step is to set aside time for yourself. No matter how busy you are you need to set aside time for yourself, even if it is just for 10 minutes. Sometimes I go on a run to clear my head, but sometimes I am too lazy to do that.

This is where the Lavender Relaxation Gift Box comes in. It comes with scented shower gel, a moisturizing bath bar, body butter, body lotion and body mist, a loofah, Hemingway tea, English Tea Cookies and a Ghirardelli Chocolate bar.

This gift basket comes from for $69.99 and it will help ease all of your stress. This would be the perfect thing to get yourself if you feel like you need a treat or you could give it to someone who really needs to calm down for once. Either way this basket will be appreciated. Drink that tea and it those cookies, then polish off that chocolate bar. Go on, you deserve it! As they say, treat yo’ self.

Tomorrow is the Big Day

Tomorrow is the big day, Valentines Day, and you actually have to do something with your lady in between seeing 50 Shades of Grey like the rest of the world. But if you have yet to put thought into what you are doing, or even just forgot, do not worry there are still some last minute ideas that will help you pull through.

If you have not made reservations for somewhere yet, you are out of luck. Unless you plan on going to McDonald’s but if you are not 16 then DO NOT DO THAT. That will be the end of your relationship right then and there. Instead of trying to get in somewhere why not make your place that somewhere? Cook your lady (or man) dinner! Even if you are not good at cooking your lover will still appreciate the effort! And if they are into things like that, maybe set up a cooking station. Lay all the ingredients out on the table and have your date help you make dinner. Cooking together brings people closer and helps the attraction grow. Here are some ideas for a fast dinner. Try the Shrimp, Leek, and Spinach pasta with some white wine and your evening will be set.

If cooking does not tickle your fancy try ice skating. Yes it may be cold but that will just give you an excuse to hold your date close! Top it off with some hot chocolate and a cozy evening by the fire and you will be set.

No matter what you choose to do this Valentine’s Day at least act like you put effort into it. Ice skating may not seem like some big romantic gesture but if you spent the time to plan out a date for your love they will appreciate it! It really is the thought that counts!

A New Spin on a “Depressing” Day

Ah Valentines day, a day for couples. A day for romance. A day to make singles feel bad? No. I refuse to let a little day make me feel bad for not having someone. I recently went through a breakup and everyone is expecting me to send myself chocolates and lay in bed all day and cry, but I refuse. I refuse to waste a Saturday on being sad because “I don’t have someone.” I have a lot of someones. I have a lot of friends, and some of those friends are single as well. Valentines Day is about celebrating love, well who says that love is supposed to be romantic? I love a lot of people and I want to celebrate them.

So instead of moping around this Saturday I will be working on some creative gifts for friends. Here are some of my ideas:

  1. Who says valentines are just for little kids? Maybe I want to buy those Frozen valentines and give them out to my friends too! On top of that Walmart sells $1.00 boxes of chocolate. Why not have a cute little valentines party like we did when we were kids?
  2. Or how about a friendship necklace? Why not have a constant reminder that the person you love will always be with you? Even if its just as friends. Just buy little cheesy ones from Claire’s!
  3. If you want to get really into Valentines Day why not create a candy bouquet? All you really have to do is find a cute glass, stuff it with some holiday inspired candy! Check out this example I found on Pinterest

No matter how you decide to celebrate Valentines Day just make the most of it! If you are in a relationship go all out! It is a day made to appreciate each other, but if you are not in a relationship do not let anyone make you feel bad! Celebrate with your friends because at the end of that day they are the ones that will always love you.

So You HAVE to Give a Gift Card…

I hate gift cards. I feel like I have made that very clear. I think they are a very last minute gift idea, but the kind of last minute gift idea where its like you did not even try you just stopped at the store on the way to the party. They are impersonal. However, sometimes people really only want gift cards. Whether it is because they do not trust themselves with cash, they are so picky it is just easier for them to get a gift card and shop for themselves, or they live so far away that the shipping costs would exceed the price of the gift itself. Whatever the reason may be you will probably encounter this type of person at some point in your life.

But, just because they only want a gift card does not mean you cannot add a personal touch to it! Who said you had to give the gift card in the crappy little paper envelope it comes in? Well, no one said you had to, so don’t!

I found the absolute cutest way to give gift cards on Pinterest. I wish I would have found this before Christmas! But, oh well, more ideas for next year.

All you need is a mason jar, or some sort of jar like structure, candies, and a gift tag. And, all you have to do is put the gift receivers favorite candy in the jar. The above picture shows M&M’s. Then you stick the gift card in the middle of the candy and place the lid on top. Use the gift tag to write a sweet note, or like the picture above, explain what the colors mean to you. For example, the amount of reds is how much you love them, the amount of blues is how much you think about them etc etc.. I just love how creative this is!

Christmas Eve Gift Basket

Okay, I know it has not even been Thanksgiving yet, and believe me I hate when people try to rush the holidays. BUT I saw the best thing on Pinterest today! It was such as cute idea that I could not resist posting it a little early. Besides, it is always good to prepare things early. Christmas is such a big holiday that one must start to prepare as soon as possible or they will miss out!

Besides, this is a really sweet idea.

Christmas Eve Box

Christmas Eve Box

What you do is buy a cute box, bucket, basket, anything you can use to hold a bunch of stuff in at one time. Then you fill it with Christmas pajamas, coco, snacks, a mug, a Christmas move, maybe even a stuffed animal. Next, you decide who you are going to give it to, your: kids, husband, mom, sister, friend, whoever because it is such a good idea people at any age can appreciate it.

Now, do not give it to them right away, wait until Christmas Eve! Make sure everyone you are going to be spending this evening with gets one, or there could be some hard feelings. Have everyone open their box ON CHRISTMAS EVE. Tell them to put on the Christmas themed pajamas, heat up the coco, snuggle that stuffed animal, get the popcorn popping and start watching that movie! It is like a Christmas starter kit! It will get everyone in the mood (like people really need help with that) for the festivities to come! It is also a great way to bond with your family. Since you can customize them, you can give them to anyone on your list. Even your boss!

It is a really inexpensive way to make someone’s day (or night). It is truly the perfect gift for the perfect time of year.
