This Gravy Warmer Would’ve Been Nice to Have For The Holidays!

Sometimes I have the worst luck! I tend to find things AFTER I could’ve used them quite often and this gravy warmer is one of them.

I ended up hosting family Thanksgiving and family Christmas and made gravy for both (turkey gravy for Thanksgiving and ham gravy for Christmas). My mother always made the BEST gravy and recently I have finally come close to getting her recipe down (gravy is WAY harder to make than it should be). For awhile there, I always had canned gravy on hand because it was almost guaranteed that I would mess up the homemade stuff.

Anyway, I found this gravy warmer which keeps gravy warm on the table for up to an hour! I’m ordering this and having it on hand for future holiday meals (and those rare times during the rest of the year when I cook up a big meal involving gravy).

If Your Resolution Includes Organization, Then Check These Out!

Can you believe that Christmas has already come and gone? It seems like there is so much anticipation for the holidays each year between planning, shopping, cleaning, and wrapping and before you know it, it’s December 26th and Christmas won’t be here for another 364 days!

This also means that New Year’s Day is fast approaching. What are some of your New Year’s Resolutions this year? One of mine is to organize my home! I went to my favorite website, Solutions, to look for SOLUTIONS to my storage and organization problems.

I really like these drawer dividers. I have a really wide drawer in my kitchen and I think these would help to  keep it separated.

I also really like this tidy sink caddy for the kitchen sink area. This makes it look SO much cleaner than having these items separated and spread out around the sink.

What are some other things that can be used to help my organization problem? Send the ideas my way!

Christmas is HERE!

Can you believe that it’s already Christmas Eve? I am always amazed at how quickly the holiday season seems to fly by.

Each year on Christmas I make eggnog cheesecake. I can’t stand eggnog so I only make it once a year. My family, however, LOVES it and patiently waits for it on Christmas day for dessert. As a Christmas surprise to them, I made TWO eggnog cheesecakes this year. They are going to get one today and one tomorrow and I have a feeling they are going to be thrilled about it!

Here’s the recipe if your family likes this as much as mine does!

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
  2. In a medium bowl combine graham cracker crumbs, 2 tablespoons sugar and butter. Press into the bottom of a 9 inch spring form pan.
  3. Bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes. Place on a wire rack to cool.
  4. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
  5. In a food processor combine cream cheese, 1 cup sugar, flour and eggnog; process until smooth. Blend in eggs, rum and nutmeg. Pour mixture into cooled crust.
  6. Bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes.
  7. Reduce heat to 250 and bake for 45 minutes, or until center of cake is barely firm to the touch. Remove from the oven and immediately loosen cake from rim. Let cake cool completely before removing the rim.

Turning a Weekend Full of Trade Show Exhibits Into a Date to Remember

Next month, the company that I work for is sending me to a trade show. Have you ever been to one? I really didn’t know what to expect at first but I ended up really liking it. Therefore, when nobody else in my division wanted to head to it I thought that I would volunteer. It’s also a nice way to get away on a trip that’s paid for by the company! I’m even bringing my man to keep my company.

To be honest I don’t think he knows what to expect. I have a feeling he things the entire weekend is going to be full of looking at trade show exhibits until he’s blue in the face. He doesn’t know that we are staying in one of the nicest hotels in the area and that I’m planning on taking him out to a comedy show and a really nice dinner on the town! I can’t wait to surprise him. :)

A Gift Certificate to Ulta Makes a Great Gift for Women of Any Age

I’m one of those girls that really likes her make-up, hair products, perfumes, and skin care products. I feel good when I take care of myself and it’s nice to be able to go to one store to stock up on everything: Ulta. This is a store filled wall to wall with make-up, hair products, skin care products, hair tools for styling, fragrance, haircare products, and bath and body products. It’s like a dream to find out that something like this exists!

One of my favorite things about Ulta is that they have cheaper, drug store items and high-end salon products and EVERYTHING in between. There are some things that I prefer to save money with and buy at a drug store and some that I would rather splurge and purchase at a salon.

A gift certificate to Ulta makes a great gift for somebody that loves products just as much as I do! They also have a great men’s line.
